We offer you the perfect combination of peace, luxury and history in our beautiful castle. And that amid the 20 acres of vineyard where the finest Malbec wines have been made for generations.
Escape from the hectic pace of everyday life and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of our chateau, surrounded by breathtaking nature. Explore the estate’s beautiful natural surroundings, stroll through our historic arboretum, enjoy the courtyard pizza nights we host during the vacations (also bookable outside on request) or take advantage of outdoor activities in the region, such as biking, horseback riding, swimming in the Lot River and kayaking.
From father to son
Chateau Camp del Saltre has been around for centuries, making Cahors wines for more than 3 generations. Wines made from 100% Malbec grapes, one of the most popular grape varieties today. The vineyard covers some 24 acres around the chateau. Directly adjacent to the vineyard is the cozy town of Prayssac in the Lot region of southern France. Our vineyard has AOC status, the Appelation dÓrigine Controlee, which means that the wines have the highest classification for the Cahors wine region and meet the requirements of AOC. In addition to its red and rose Malbec wines, since 2022 the house also makes white Chardonnay wine, also with IGP status.

Staying overnight at Chateau Camp del Saltre
Since 2000, the estate has been owned by 3 Dutch owners who have transformed the chateau into a beautiful vacation resort. Completely in French style and in the middle of the vineyards. During the summer vacations, entertaining culinary evenings are organized for guests twice a week, including a super cozy pizza night in the courtyard of the chateau.

The little castle that can accommodate up to 14-16 people (additional cribs can be added if necessary),
A baker’s house that can accommodate up to 8 people and

Getting married at a wine chateau
Our estate has hosted weddings for many years. We do this on a limited basis so that we keep it unique. Long white-covered tables, walking among the vineyards, all of us spending the night at a chateau. Delicious food, drink and enjoyment! To make your wedding unforgettable, our chateau works exclusively with Lot of Happiness. An incredibly fun and good collaboration, where we have been able to give Dutch couples the days of their lives for years!
Accessibility
Prayssac has excellent access by car and plane. There are regular flights with KLM from Amsterdam to Toulouse (1.5 hours ven destination) and with Transavia from Rotterdam to Bergerac (50 minutes ven destination) (our preference). At the airport you can rent a car or we can provide transportation for you. Ask us about the possibilities.
