Sometimes life takes you exactly where you need to be. For Eddy and Patrick, that meant a new chapter among the vineyards of southern France. A story of passion, courage, and following a dream.
Nestled among the vineyards of the Lot, surrounded by 24 hectares of vineyards, we continue to write the story of Château Camp del Saltre every day.
But that story didn’t start in France.
For years, Eddy’s life revolved around the Dutch business world. Meetings, boardrooms, and entrepreneurship shaped his daily life for years. That is, until a life-changing period during the COVID-19 pandemic put everything into a different perspective and made him reevaluate what really matters.
Together with Patrick, we came up with the idea of changing course and pursuing a dream that had been simmering for some time: living and working among the vineyards in France.
They found that dream at Chateau Camp del Saltre.
A historic winery in Prayssac, in the heart of the famous Cahors wine region, where the Delbru family has been making wine since 1860. For generations, knowledge, craftsmanship, and a love of winemaking have been passed down here.
Today, we have the opportunity to continue that story.
On our limestone-rich soils, we produce more than 120,000 liters of wine each year. From full-bodied Malbecs and our award-winning rosé, Le Saltre Pink, to Chardonnay and the unique Ségalin grape, which you’ll hardly find anywhere else.
But Chateau Camp del Saltre is more than just wine.
It’s a place where people gather for vacations, wine tastings, weddings, and long summer evenings among the vines. A place where French tradition and Dutch hospitality come together.
And maybe that’s the best part of this story.
That sometimes you can start a whole new chapter. That dreams don’t have an expiration date. And that a love for France, wine, and the good life can sometimes just turn into a new home.
Curious about the story behind this special move? Eddy talked about it in detail in an interview.
