Chateau Camp del Saltre, located on the outskirts of the cozy village of Prayssac in the “Lot” department, is a romantic 18th-century castle surrounded by beautiful nature and a variety of tree species. It all started in the summer of 2001, when a group of enthusiastic vacationers from the Netherlands set out for the South of France for an unforgettable vacation. During their trip, they discovered this enchanting little castle and fell in love with its charm and history.<\/span><\/p>\n

The castle was owned by the Delbez family, who put the estate up for sale due to their age and desire to pass it on to the right people. In 2001, the new owners purchased the chateau to transform it into a welcoming retreat. The transformation began in January 2002, and soon the first guests were welcomed into the beautifully remodeled apartments.<\/span><\/p>\n

What began as a dream became a reality and success grew rapidly. The guesthouses offer a perfect blend of comfort and French charm. Our guests can enjoy the pool, a private terrace and the beautiful surroundings of Prayssac, with numerous activities and historical sites in the vicinity. The entire estate of Chateau Camp del Saltre, once belonged to the influential Cillacs de Borie family. The chateau itself and the surrounding vineyards. The vineyard was taken over in the 19th century by the Delbru family, who continued the tradition of winemaking with great passion and skill. The chateau itself with its outbuildings passed into the hands of the Delbez family. For more than 100 years, the Delbru’s continued the tradition of winemaking and passed on their knowledge to subsequent generations…. <\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

On September 1, 2022, a new opportunity came along. During a social gathering with these neighbor winemakers, Gerard and Dominique Delbru, it was revealed that they wanted to sell the winery and vineyards, located around the chateau. Unfortunately, there was no succession. And so, after a period of more than 100 years, the entire estate was reassembled, as it was once intended to be. <\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Patrick Banis, a tukker with a French heart lives at the chateau and is apprenticed to Gerard Delbru so that one day he can make the Delbru\u00b4s wines himself. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

At Chateau Camp del Saltre, we make red and rose Malbec and white Chardonnay wines. Our chateau has AOP status, which means that our Cahors wines must meet the strictest standards and contain controlled quality.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chateau Camp del Saltre makes 6 different wines, namely 3 red Cahors wines: the Le Saltre Noir, an accessible, often younger Malbec wine, the Malecoste, a wood-aged full-bodied red tough Malbec wine and the Revelation, a complex, very balanced wood-aged Malbec wine. We also make Le Saltre Rose, a fresh, accessible but flavorful rose, L\u00cdnnocence, a delicious easy red wine and, since 2022, a fresh accessible Chardonnay called Le Saltre Blanc. <\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
